St. St. Konstantin and Elena

The resort St. St. Konstantin and Elena is located 10 km in the north-east direction from the sea capital Varna and is an excellent combination of sea, forests and curative mineral water. The resort combines ancient history, exotic characteristics and modernity - all that in a real nature park with cypress trees, lilies, fig-trees and prevailing pine-trees, with an area of about 55 hectares, quiet coves, sandy beaches, rocks here and there which are the fishermen's and scuba-diver's paradise.

In 1897 the Municipality of Varna commenced building works in the area in the vicinity of the ancient monastery "St. St. Konstantin and Elena". In 1925 Anton Novak, the person who designed the Sea Garden in Varna, laid the foundations of the nature park in the resort.

The coastline is 4-5 km long and 20-30 metres wide, covered with small golden sand. The beaches are secluded and can be used from May to October.

The natural characteristics of the seacoast make the climate mild and temperate, the peace and calmness attract tourists and guests from all over the world.

On the territory of the complex there are numerous mineral spas, balneological complexes, an open pool with hot mineral water, etc. The mineral water was discovered in 1961 (38oC and 46oC) and is famous for its medicinal properties, providing treatment for a lot of diseases.

The mineral-water sources have temperature up to 42oC and are rich of calcium, bromine, iodine and sulfates. There can be successfully treated: chronic unspecific pulmonary diseases and diseases of the upper respiratory tract; diseases of the cardiovascular system - hypertension I and II degree; ischemic heart disease; functional diseases of the nervous system - neuroses, mental overexertion and nervous-vegetative disorders; endocrine-metabolic diseases - thyrotoxicosis in light stage; obesity, diabetes mellitus; diseases of the locomotorium - rheumatic diseases of degenerative nature; myositis; tendovaginitis; post-fracture conditions; nervous-system diseases - neuritis, radiculitis, plexitis, spinal diseases.

There are a lot of reasons to visit this resort today: the specific microclimate with high concentration of soothing light negative ions; the prefect harmony between the sea breeze, the calm stimulating air, the aroma of the century old fig-trees, cypress trees and lime-trees and the affluence of mineral resources.
